  • Comment: I attended St James many years ago as a child (in the 1960s) and love my memories from that time in Indian Head. A dear friend - Louise Highby - is having her funeral service there tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and the St. James family.

  • Comment: I\'m so glad to see that St. James has a web site! My family attended services and Sunday school at St. James for many years. I graduated in 1985 and have many wonderful memories of the friendships that were made and activities that the youth group participated in. Other memories are the pins we received every year letting everyone know how many years you had attended Sunday school. The nursery was a fun place to stop while on your way to your room upstairs. Most of us stopped to say hello to Mrs. Kiedash and Joyce Coombs (my mom). The Christmas pageant was one of my favorites. Do you still use the angel wings and shepherd’s clothing? After the pageant we would gather in the parish hall to watch the younger kids’ pageant and sing “Hear Comes Santa Clause”. We always had to sing it twice, of course louder the second time, and then you know who came running through the doors passing out candy canes to those who sat on his lap. Everyone would bring in a gift for those in need. The church picnics, boy did we have lots of fun jumping in the creek and swinging on the ropes. Nope I wasn’t the one that fell and got hurt on the rope swing; if memory serves me right you gotta talk to Ronnie Prasser about that one! The youth group; we had a blast raking leaves… ok maybe not the raking part but definitely the fun afterwards, cook outs, pizza parties and best of all the trips we made from all the money we earned. Kings Dominion and the hockey games were the best! The family weddings, the anniversary parties, and finally the baptism of our son, Phillip Michael (Coombs) Treat, God Son of Barbara Prasser and Larry Hurlburt, all hold special memories as well. I hope everyone attending Sunday school is able to leave with as many wonderful friends and memories as I did. God Bless! Patty Treat (Coombs)
